Everyone reacts to stress in a different way. Some people get headaches. Others get stomachaches. Many people feel like they’re going to explode. How does stress affect you? Check the top three ways that stress affects you. If you have additional reactions, include them at the end of the list.

The bad news is life is rarely stress free. Stress can cause you to do things you ordinarily wouldn’t do, make you act in socially unacceptable ways, affect your health and interfere with your relationships. The good news is once you identify what causes you stress you can control, diminish and in some cases eliminate it.

Tips for Reducing Stress

  • Avoid situations you know will be too hard to handle.
  • Perform or listen to music.
  • Participate in sports.
  • Work on a hobby or start a new one.
  • Take deep breaths. Count to 10.
  • Leave the situation.
