Steve Debaun

Elder Law

Stephen DeBaun graduated magna cum lauda, psychology from St. Bonaventure University in 1974 and attended University of Buffalo, School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1977. He began his practice with the Atlanta Legal Aid Society where he specialized in concerns with senior citizens and those with mental and emotional impairments. He also engaged in an Administrative Law practice (social security, Medicare, Medicaid and other public benefit programs) as well as in active trial and appellate practice.

Steve joined a firm with a national practice in corporate business competition litigation where he became involved in substantial and complex litigation matters. In 1989, he opened his own practice. As part of his practice, he is an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Georgia, Department of Medical Assistance and the Department of Human Resources.

Steve is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Georgia Bar Association and Georgia Trial Lawyers of America. His practice has extended throughout the US and as a result, he is admitted pro hoe vie in the States of Alabama, Florida, California, Indiana and Illinois to name a few.

Steves area of practice include but are not limited to Elder Law and estate planning, Medicaid, Medicare, Guardianships, trusts, powers of attorney, nursing home and probate.
